Humpday Wednesday

What really is a hump day? Some people refer to Wednesday as hump day. The reason? Wednesday is in the middle of the work week and people often see it as a “hump” that they must get over in order to get closer to the end of week, and what better way that to get over that weekend slump than to spend the night drinking with friends!

JCI Alabang in collaboration with JCI San Juan Pinaglabanan brings back its hump day Wednesdays. Celebrated every  last Wednesday of the month, it a way to get to network and meet more people to enjoy the week and leave your worries away. The first run of the hump day was at Chivs Music Lounge, Greenhills last May 31. The crowd was taken back to the 90s as crooner Top Suzara serenaded the crowd with hits like “Do You Believe in Me”, “All I Want” “Loving You” and his most famous hit “ Before I Let You Go”. The party proved to be an even greater one since there were a lot of other JCI Members from other chapters that graced the event. Even past JCI National Presidents Steve Tycangco and Senator Jayvee Ejercito were in attendance.

The second run of Hump day Wednesday was held down south last June 28 at Scatter MNL in BF Paranaque. Owned by Regional Vice President and JCI Alabang Past President RJ Paguyo, guests were treated with the infamous southern hospitality with a more laidback vibe to cut the week slump. It was definitely a chill and hang lose kind of night. Some of the more thrill seeking ones decided to challenge themselves to Scatter MNL’s 7 shot challenge which proved to be the crème de la crème for the evening. Other JCI Members from JCI QC Capitol and JCI Manilena were also there to celebrate the night away.

The event may not have been an official JCI project but it is in these fellowship sessions that we get to build lifelong connections  to these people whom we call our brothas from another motha, or should I say, our brothas from another chapta.
