Araw ng Pagbasa in Haven for Children
JCI Alabang celebrated Araw ng Pagbasa in with 31 boys in Haven for Children, Alabang, Muntinlupa, last Nov 27, 2014.
It was a fun afternoon of reading and fun. Three stories were read– Ang Itim na Kuting (The Black Kitten), Ang Mabait na Kalabaw (The Kind Carabao), and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. A special guest, The Grinch himself, graced the event to the delight of the kids.
Haven for Children is a temporary shelter for young boys rescued from the streets. It is run by DSWD.
This project was in coordination with JCI Daraga and JCI Bicol Region.
Araw ng Pag(b)asa strives to promote reading and literacy by upholding our heritage and values through the lives of eminent Filipinos; it is as much about reading as it is about hope.
Project Chairmen: Henry Flordeliza and Andre Oblepias
Committee members: Aimee Flordeliza, Lester Baes, Angel Aguinaldo
