Stairway to Haven

Last March 15, 2014 was the Official Launch of “Stairway to Haven,” the first socio-civicprogram of JCI-Alabang (2014).  The Haven For Children is a residential institution that provides rehabilitation facilities for boys aged 7-13 who are recovering from substance abuse. The facility is run by the Department of Social Welfare and Department of the Philippines. If you wish to support Stairway to Haven, contact JCI Alabang here.

JCI Alabang’s Stairway to Haven Project is an umbrella program that will tackle academic education, vocational learning, sports & recreation and other special projects for the 126+ kids of Haven for Children in the next 2 years.

We have completed a number of projects already thanks to the support of various groups and companies.

Here are some of the projects that was completed:

1) Lego turnover – Lego toys donated by Felta Philippines were donated to Haven.  These toys aim to help special needs children in their cognitive development through play.  This project was supported by Philomena Properties Inc and the City of Muntinlupa.

2) Books N’ Roses – a celebration of the Spanish holiday – Dia del Libro and Feast of St George– JCI Alabang partnered with JCI Barcelona to have a morning of crafts and turnover of donated books. This project was supported by Baranggay Ayala Alabang, Midland Industrial Sales, and Gardenia Philippines.

3) Basketball Clinic – the boys of Haven for Children were taught by the University of Perpetual Help Altas former head coach Jimwell Gican and his coaching team.  This project was supported by Baranggay Ayala Alabang.

4) Good Global Values Mural Painting – the Philippine School of Interior Design (PSID) Class of 2014, in partnership with JCI Alabang, lead a project in painting the good global values — Initiative, Faith, Love, Resourcefulness, and Courage.  This project was supported by Timpla Paintshoppe and Hardware and Boysen Philippines.
